Early AGI

For those who haven’t tried Claud Code yet, you are missing out big time on what it feels like to have a genie that can do almost anything for you digitally. You just need to give it some instructions and it’ll be at your service. As Claude Code’s adoption increases, one thing has become even clearer : deciding what to build and distribution matters more than ever, if it didn’t already.

Despite tools like Claude Code, which have lowered the barrier to execution, the number of products that have gone viral and generated meaningful revenue is still very small. This points to a deeper issue i.e. not a lack of tools, but a lack of imagination around what consumers actually want. On the consumer side especially, there’s visible fatigue. People are tired of downloading apps that are only 1x or 2x better than what already exists.

The puck is clearly moving toward lean teams and solo founders. Personally, this excites me. You no longer need a full-time designer or developer, which used to be a major constraint. I taught myself product design on Figma over the last few years, but even that is not a bottleneck anymore. One of the best things about Claude Code is that after it builds something, you can trace back the code and understand the nuances. This helps one build their own foundational understanding in the process.

Great builders will continue to build things society really needs. What will thin out over time is the middle of the pyramid within big orgs. Inertia alone is what’s preventing large organisations from significantly shrinking their structures. At the same time, the offline world will continue to thrive. This would consumer brands, and offline industries will continue doing well. Influencers will face a significant competition with better looking AI influencers starting this year itself.

Zooming out, the game hasn’t fundamentally changed. You still need to figure out how to compound your wealth to support your lifestyle. That was true before, and it’s true now. The only real difference is that the arena has changed and will keep changing much faster than ever before.
