Back to Atoms

I’ve been thinking quite a bit about what a post-AGI world might look like, for myself. A lot of software will be commoditised, if not already. If your entire business is just shipping bits, especially B2B, the pressure is starting to show up. We might not be that far away from a World where most code is written by AI. Travis Kalanick, one of my favorite founders, also spoke about something similar in a recent TBPN interview. I’ve intentionally tried to keep my professional identity small since my college graduation and have been thinking about what I might want to build or spend time on next.

Lately, I’ve been reading a lot about solar and helping my dad explore venturing into a business in that direction. On the side, I’m also curious about experimenting with a few other things, especially D2C businesses and fitness/football coaching.

It’s still very early. But one thing that keeps crossing my mind is as we move closer to AGI, the offline world will become even more interesting. A lot of the online World we rely on today didn’t even exist 25 years ago. Our contributions to that World may not be required in about three to five years from now.

Rather than anchoring too strongly to a single professional identity, it may be more useful to think about areas at the intersection of everything offline, existing/new demand and what excites you.
