Raising the Bar: 2025 Goals and Progress Update

At the start of 2025, I had set a list of personal goals for myself. Looking back, I realised they weren’t ambitious enough. Hence, I have decided to push harder, think bigger, and track my progress. Here’s where I stand today, and what I’ve added to my list.

Progress on Existing Goals

1. Learning Macro Trends and Technical Analysis for Investing

I’ve made decent progress here. I’ve finished a couple of books and, more importantly, have become comfortable reading charts with nuance. I can now understand patterns like head and shoulders, double tops, triple bottoms, and spot signals such as a volume increase at specific price points.

This clarity has shaped my investing and swing trading decisions. Positive signs so far. Fingers crossed, but even if the year doesn’t end with a huge win, I’ve built enough confidence (and cushion) to keep going.

2. Building Compelling Narratives and Storytelling

I’ve read a few storytelling-focused books and started using tools that give me real-time feedback with impact scores. I to practice storytelling weekly in my day job. I want to build this muscle deliberately. Musk and Sam Altman are masters at storytelling, raising billions purely on narrative spinning.

3. Building Products Using AI

This is where I’ve been behind. I had planned to start in July, but life had other ideas. I will get back on track with a ton of product ideas brewing, inspired by recent events and conversations.

My plan now: experiment quickly, build with Cursor, and ship to the App Store. I expect most of these projects to fail and that’s okay. The goal is to flush out the bad ideas, so the good ones can come out quickly.

4. Becoming Better at FIFA

I started at Division 5 (or 10 I afaik) starting this year, losing most games, but now I’m competing in Division 2. Sure, I still lose, but against much stronger players. Next : Win consistently in Division I and (most importantly) win against a few friends I respect as good FIFA players.

5. Attain 2021 mindset

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve carried from 2021 is accountability. This year sure has been a test, and has pushed me to adopt the same mindset again. I’m proud of how much I’ve been able to get done, but this is just the beginning. My aim is to increase the intensity , letting experiments and serendipity shape what’s next.

New Goals for 2025

I want to push myself further. Here’s what I’m adding:

  • Reaching $networth goal by end of 2025: Not because I need it, but as a personal challenge. Most founders don’t make meaningful money from their ventures. I’d want to make it before I start something. But only when the timing and problem truly make sense, not just for the sake of status.

The two areas that make sense the most right now are AI infrastructure/consumer or consumer crypto such as reddotpay, Kast Card, or OpenFX on the B2B side. Most of the wealth in technology is created during periods of rapid ascent , but only a handful of players, usually the top one or two, truly make meaningful money. The rest are eventually consolidated.

  • Focus on health: Between gym training 4x a week and twice a week football sessions, fitness has become a big part of my routine. Football especially gives me unparalleled joy. I can clearly see how far I’ve come compared to two years ago.

  • Publishing My First Comic Book: I want to publish a comic book on Amazon Kindle this year. This one’s a small but deeply personal milestone.

I’ll try to share another update by the end of the year, hopefully with more wins this time, and some lessons from failures.
